Son having RPLND ON 4/25/13

My son is scheduled for his Orchectomy & RPLND at Virginia Mason by Dr. Chris Porter and Dr. Raker, Vascular Surgeon. I'm getting more anxious as the time approaches. It's anticipated to take ~10 hours. Just looking for words of advice & support.

He was diagnosised on 12/5/12 with Intermediate Non seminoma with Mets to Lung and Large Mass around Inferior Vena Cava/Aorta. He completed 4+ cycles VIP ON 3/2/13

Hello...I first want to wish your son the best of luck with his RPLND surgery. I had my RPLND surgery at the Cleveland Clinic two years ago on 4/25/2011. I had a well respected Urology Surgeon at the Clinic named Dr. Burgland do my surgery.

This is a major surgery, but I'm sure he will be in good hands.

My heart goes out to the both of you because my Mother tries to be so strong thoughout this journey we must travel.

I am so glad that I have my mother near me while I went through this surgery and two other surgeries.

I am not much of a BLOG'er, but wanted to respond with my support.

Please let me know if you need any other advice.
