Lump On Left, Possible Lump On Right, Advice Please!!

Hey Rob,

I've had a similar experience this week and wanted to let you know how it came out. I've had a small bb sized lump on my left testicle for as long as I can remember, recently there is a smaller one to it's left, and a similar mass on my right testicle. I'm right smack dab in the risk group, white, under 30, and have an undescended testicle (repaired 20 years ago, but not fully developed due to surgery). The lump on my left testicle is tender to the touch and I too have had lower back pain.

I had my US Tuesday and have been antsy all week. Well, the doc called today and said there is nothing to be concerned about! If you have any doubts, and peace of mind is wonderful, get the US done. It literally takes 5 minutes and is the best way to determine what, if anything, is wrong. Trust me, I tried to talk myself out of it plenty of times. Just know that all hard masses aren't necessarily cancer, but should be checked out. Hopefully this eases your mind. Let us know what's going on with it. Good Luck!

You need to get an ultrasound scan of your testicles.
Your GP may or may not think that he knows what he's doing, but the only test that will clear this up is an ultrasound.
Don't settle for anything else.

And better today than tomorrow.

HI, EVERYONE,
IN JUNE LAST YEAR I FOUND A PEA SIZED LUMP ON THE TOP OF MY LEFT TESTICLE, I WAS ALSO SUFFERING FROM LOWER BACK PAIN DURING THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND WHEN I AWOKE , BUT PUT THIS DOWN TO A BAD BED/POSTURE. I CONSULTED MY GP WHO SAID THE LUMP WAS MOST LIIKELY A Epididymal cyst . ALTHOUGH HE DIDNT USE transillumination TO REACH THIS DIAGNOSIS, OVER THE FOLLOWING MONTHS I CONTINUED TO HAVE THE SAME LOWER BACK PAIN DURING SLEEPING, EVEN THOUGH I PURCHASED AN EXPENSIVE BED, AND EVEN CHANGED THE TYPE OF PILLOW I WAS USING, I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THE LUMP HAS GROWN SLIGHTLY AND I AM EXPERIANCING DISCOMFORT IN THE TESTICLE, ONLY YESTERDAY I PERFORMED ANOTHER SELF-EXAMINATION, AND HAVE FOUND WHAT I THINK TO BE ANOTHER LUMP/GROWTH ON MY RIGHT TESTICLE, THIS IS DIFFERENT TO THE OTHER AS IT IS HARDER TO FIND . AND THERE IS PAIN WHEN I TOUCH IT, IT SEEMS TO BE LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE TESTICLE, AND UNLIKE THE LUMP IN MY LEFT TESTICLE CANNOT BE SEEN THROUGH MY SCROTUM. I AM FAIRLY SURE IT IS NOT MY EPIIDIMUS THAT I AM FEELING AS I HAVE LOCATED THIS SEPERATELY, BUT I CANNOT RULE OUT IF I AM JUST BEING PARANOID, I HAVE RECENTLY ALSO BEEN GETTING SLIGHT TWINGES IN MY LOWER BACK ALSO
