is the lump on the testicle? as far as swelling, i never had swelling but once because i sat down and pinched one of them. then i was diagnosed with a tumor in both. one being 95% tumor and 1/2 cm on the other. so it was there a long time before i had swelling. so i'm not sure about that scenario. if its not on the testicle i think you can pretty much rule out TC. probably something with the epididimys. but if its on the testical i would get an ultrasound to rule out anything!

I wouldn't use the lack of swelling as a sign that you don't have tc. My sons testicle actually began to atrophy and calcify.
Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. Full open RPLND 10/13/04. All Clear since.

Treated by Dr. Rakowski of Midland Park, NJ. Visited Sloan Kettering for protocol advice. RPLND done at Sloan Kettering.

My son's never swelled nor was there a lump. It became firmer and he didn't think anything of it. The tumor stopped the flow of blood and it was the incredible pain that tipped him off. Stay vigilant. Dianne

The urologist who had alot of experience did a physical exam on Chris and said "this is not as serious as I was led to believe"!!! we were so happy and elated .....went home and celebrated....and then the next morning he called me himself and said "get him to Sloan Kettering, his AFP is 84!...I had to wake Chris up and tell him he did indeed have cancer...just please have a blood test to rule out anything...Mary Ellen
