  • lump on bottom of left testicle...

A few years ago I noticed a "floating" lump in scrotum, about the size of a pea (I know, it's either "rice" or "peas"), but nothing on the testicles. Within a month, I couldn't find the lump in sac, but did find a hard pea sized lump / knot on the bottom of left testicle, but definately on the testicle. Checked consistently for next couple of weeks...sometimes I could find it sometimes couldn't.

The lump is still there, but tends to change in size (sometimes larger, smaller, or not findable) and grows larger and harder during sex. Sometimes it's plyable, other times it's just a smooth small hard knot, right on the bottom tip of testicle. Sometimes there's an ache, sometimes not. Always on the back of my mind. The symptoms (ache and knot) appear most often after sitting for long periods.

Have a physician in family and discussed with him...he said don't worry about it...LOL.

Considering for the first time going to Urologist to check it out...still in "it's probably nothing" mode, due to research online, and no change or other symptoms over a couple of years.

What do you think, (other than get to the doctor right now...you fool)?

    Thanks...M

    Mont:
It doesn't sound like tc but why not get it checked? You may very easily have an infection or cyst that should be treated.
Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. Full open RPLND 10/13/04. All Clear since.

Treated by Dr. Rakowski of Midland Park, NJ. Visited Sloan Kettering for protocol advice. RPLND done at Sloan Kettering.

      I also have something similar.

My epidymis on my left testical is swollen. The epidymis at the bottom of my testical is a bit bigger than that on the right testical at the bottom but have had the left testical examined twice and have had epidymitis on both both ocassions.

        Thanks gentlemen.

Fanden - What was prescribed to treat the infection? Also, when your "swollen" symptoms are present, does the area feel firm (and attached), like a pea sized knot on the bottom tip of the testicle?

Again, many thanks to you both for responding.

My epidymis is still fairly swollen in the left testical and there is a lump of some sort at the bottom where the epidymis stops. My right side also has the lump at the bottom but is smaller but the epidymis isn't swollen in that testical. Lump isn't really the best name for it. Just a swollen epidymis that goes all the way round the back of the testical.

Anyway best get it checked out. I have already been twice to my doctor with epidymitis and I am going again next wednesday. No point asking here without also getting a professional checking it.

I was also treated with Ciprofloxacin. My left testical is also still fairly swollen around the epidymis and the connecting tubes.
