  • Worried Soldier, Advice Please

OK, heres the deal. I am currently delployed to Iraq and will be home in about a month and a half. A little over a month ago I found a small bump on my right testicle and since I was going home on leave I got it checked out there. My urologist felt it, an RN did a ultrasound, said there was no sign of a tumor and said it was probably and infection of the epididymus and prescribed 2 weeks of doxycycline. Well, I'm back in good ol Iraq, went through the meds and the bump is still there. There is no real pain with it, just an ache very rarely. My question is what else could this be i.e. cyst, tc????, or what. Also, do you think I could just wait until I got home to get this checked out again by a civilian do (preferably my choice) or should I go now to the military docs now?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also I dont get to use the internet very often because I'm always out on patrol. So, if anyone does have any advice could you please email me at [email protected]. Thanks a bunch and god bless.

The most likely thing is a cyst. If you can see if one of the docs can send you for an ultrasound and some blood work. I don't think you need to worry but why not take advantage of the medical care available?
