  • What does it feel like?

    The cancer that is...

I do have a lump...but it appears to be within the epididymis and feels like a tiny hard lump which I THINK is Hydatid of Morgagni...its about the same size and shape.

It also hurts when I squeeze it...the aching throughout my hip and scrotum definitely comes from this spot and the testicle itself is not sore.

So...what does the cancer feel like? I've felt the aching testicle till it hurts and can't find anything on the sides or front that would resemble a hard round lump...

Is it obvious? Should I have trouble finding it?

(sorry for the second thread...I thought a new thread was necessary)

    florian,
When in doubt, see a urologist. My husband only had an "aching" feeling for a couple of weeks and neither he, 2 general practioners nor a urologist could feel a lump.

I'm gradually pushing myself into seeing someone...

Just an FYI, I've been having continuous aches and "twinges" for about two months now.

A couple questions I forgot to ask:

Lower back pain...I have aches on my lower back and I've heard that this is a late-symptom of testicular cancer?

When the aching in my groin becomes frequent I often feel aches and coldness down my thigh and behind my knee...is this somehow related you think?

      Thanks

Ya gotta push yourself harder and call a urologist!! TC, when diagnosed in the early stages is highly curable.. it's still curable in late stages but you have to go through a lot more to achieve a cure. The back pain could be nothing or could be metastasis. The pain down your leg could be inflammation hitting a nerve. Please do yourself a favor and do not delay setting up an appointment any longer! A urologist is the doc to go to and he/she should order a testicular ultrasound and bloodwork to look at markers often seen in TC. And don't be !!!!

I didn't have any aches, pains, swellings or lumps in my testicle . . . but I did have sporadic lower back pain (which felt completely different to any muscle ache, strain or tear than i'd ever felt - and I had my fair share of sports injuries up to that point) up to a month before I collapsed with multiple blood clots on the lungs caused by retroperitoneal mass constricting the ivc.
Do yourself a favour and go and get checked out asap.
If it is TC, then congratulate yourself that you did the right thing in seeking help - the sooner it's diagnosed, the sooner they can work on curing you.
If you get the all clear - Happy days !
            Good luck,

            Paul

              Thanks for the advice guys

I'll be making an appointment for next week.

One last question: can testicular cancer form on the very top or bottom of the testicle? Or does it appear exclusively on the front and sides?

Glad you're making an appointment...let us know what the results are. Maybe you can get one for this week??? Your lower back pain worries me.

Well, my GP is a very good one...and I'd rather see her...besides it turns out I can't see her till just after April.

As for my back ache...its not as bad as it sounds...its not pain, its just an uncomfortable ache that I'd had for years because of my bad posture (I was overweight as a kid and hunched and slouched alot).

I'm more worried about the fact that whenever my testicle aches or is uncomfortable my lower abdomen (just above the penis on the left hand side), thigh, hip, knee and buttock have the same sensation...as if something is spreading...

As for my other question - whether or not TC forms on the top of a testicle...I ask because I do have a pea shaped lump there...a tender swelling that the other testicle doesn't have.

oh florian, florian, florian! As the reigning queen of avoidance behavior I suspect you're putting this off, no? The simple fact that you are concerned about this to the point of finding this site and asking folks that have never seen you (or any of your "parts" ) to diagnose you , and that you continue to be worried about lumps and aches means you really need to push for an appointment. I've never heard of a doc that doesn't have time built into their schedules for an urgent appointment. There are slow growing TCs and aggressive TCs. If you are really concerned, and if you have mysterious aches and pains in the back, abdomen, legs (inner thigh where lymph nodes are perhaps?) you should not wait another 2 weeks. Add on to that the time it takes to get an appt for an ultrasound and bloodwork, and the time to get the results, then you're waiting until mid April to get your answer. IF it is TC and IF it is aggressive you've caused yourself serious delay. Jens, Bomo Sammo and I all suggested you get an appt asap. We can support you and advise, but nobody can diagnose you over the net. Also, I have never read anything about TC prefering one side of a testicle over another. It's your life (literally)....please take care of this.

                      I allready told you once!
                      DO WHAT THE LADY SAYS!!!!

The pea-sized "thing" that I discovered, grew into wallnut-size in 3 weeks. Then I finally got rid of it. By then it had spread though....

                      Get moving!

                      Best wishes

You should get it checked now so that you can either stop worrying about it or get it treated.
