I'm glad to hear your good news, Quinten. Be sure to keep up the regular self-examinations, and don't hesitate to call your doctor if the antibiotics don't clear up the problem. Keep us posted with your results.

    Hello, it's me again.

I've good news! After the ultrasound I'm diagnosed with orchitis, an inflammation of the testicle. The doctor prescribed antibiotics.
I'm very relieved and will thank you for your support.

Keep up the good work on this site and forum!

Some tumors grow slowly and others grow extremely quickly. What size is your testicle now?

OK guys, thank you again for your 'transatlantic' help!

Another question: three weeks ago I had a fertility-test done by a specialized doctor.

I called him today and asked him if the testicle was already swollen. He said he examined it (I couldn't remember myself) and was very sure it wasn't swollen at that time. In that case, he stated, it couldn't be possible to have TC, because tumors don't grow so quickly.

What's your opinion? (and sorry about asking so much questions....)

We aren't symmetrical. By that, our left side is not identical to our right side(and vice versa). Also, the enlarged testis may be the normal one. As the others have said, get the US and have both checked. Which appears will happen tomorrow. In the mean time....deep breaths, you'll be ok regardless of the results.

It is very normal to have these pre test fears. Don't let fear (or hypochondria) run your life.

Let us know how everything goes.

Your doctor is right when he tells you that you probably don’t have tc. Did he think it was an infection? Did he give you anything to reduce the swelling? I agree with Jens on getting the US to eliminate the chances of an incorrect diagnoses. Just try and stay calm until the results are in and remember if you do have tc it is very curable. Let us know what your results are and don’t forget we are here for you.

I'm very, very frightened at this moment.
On friday I'll have an ultrasound. Today my doctor said that cancer is very unthinkable, but he couldn't say no for 100 percent.
I can only think that things will go totally wrong, in my opinion I have testicular cancer for 100 percent.
    How to deal with this?

My opinion is that he is not right.
I had enlargement, as a precursor, before I finally discovered a lump.

    Read carefully now!

You don't have TC, says statistics. But you should have an ultrasound scan - to make sure.
Call your doctor and say that I said that you should have an USS. And I know that enlargement is a POSSIBLE symptom.

    Get to it!

    Best wishes

Here I am, again. This afternoon I visited my doctor. He confirmed that my testicle was larger, but he first impression was that there's no testicular cancer.
He said this, because he couldn't find a lump or something. Enlargement alone is not a sign of cancer, my doctor told me. I doubt he's right. What's your opinion?

Well, a lot of us here know how we dealt with it ourselves.
First things first, and going to the doctor is the right thing to do!
Get an ultrasound as Dadmo and Don has said, it will give you the answer.

    Best wishes.

No, I don't have any other symptoms.
However, it seems that the condition of my scrotum has something to do with it. For example: this morning the testicle felt quite normal, after I had a shower. Later this day it felt a bit harder again. So it comes and goes, a strange situation indeed.

But I'm very frightened, because I'm a hypochondriac. I'm already thinking about an operation, while I haven't visit my doctor yet. My wife and son are getting crazy because of my behaviour. I only can think of my testicle-problem and my worries about cancer.
Who knows how to deal with this?

Did they give you any indication of why this was happening and have you had any other symptoms besides the abnormal size??? I would also go to the doctor again if the problem persists!!!!!!
