  • Im Scared!... please help me!!

hi everyone i would like to stay annonomous , but i am very scared! i found a little bump on my left testicle in the middle between the outside and inside of it , a couple of weeks ago, and i have been so nervous about it i have been having anxiety attacks here and there and i cant stop worrying about it . Im 18 and i used to smoke cigarettes but i quit a while ago. I had a docters appointment for a mole on my head that i thought might have been cancer , and my doc assured me it was not , but he scheduled an appointment in 4 weeks jsut to make sure it doesnt grow. I am going to tell him about the lump on my testicle when i go back there then. Should i be worried till then ? it hasnt grown at all and i know you will say see a doc but im so nervous its all i can think about and ive passed out a few times because of it and im scared to tell my parents , and scared to tell the doc but im gonna have to somehow... plz send your support !

Best thing to do is talk to your parents I am sure they will want you to get it checked out before your appt date in a month. As for at the doctor's office not much different then a sports check up, just last a few seconds longer and before you know it you are done. Good luck and don't worry!

There are so many things that it could be. Testicular cancer is rare so the odds are that you don't have it. Just let your parents know that you are worried and would like to see a urologist.

Hello! I know exactly how you feel about telling your parents!!! I was recently diagnosed in early April and will be 34 years old in June ( ) and one of the first things I thought of was how in the hell am I going to tell my mother this news?!?!?!?! Thank god I was with my wife at the time when it was discovered so I didn't have to break the news to her as well! Don’t be afraid to let them know. In fact, if they have access to a computer, show them this wonderful website. If they can read some of the posts here, I'm sure it will somewhat put their minds at ease!!! I know that it did for my family!!!

The only other bit of advice that I can tell you is to not wait 3 weeks. Tell your doctor what is going on and see him right away! I had my I/O on a Thursday after discovering my abnormality that Sunday night. I do not believe that anything could happen physically in 3 weeks, but that will be tough mentally! Best of luck to you and please keep us up to date with your prognosis!!!

yea its hell mentally , i just keep my mind off it and tell myself its nothing .... liek i hope.... but i have my appointment in 3 weeks , and coincidentally its when im out on collage break, so i dont miss my expencive schooling. im not worrying about physically the 3 weeks becuse i think ive had it for a couple months or so maybe a month and it hasnt grown. and my insurance isnt taht great so i have a very expencive co-pay and to go to a urologist i have to have a referral.... but im keeping it together i can deal till then... and illl let you all know asap

I would agree to go earlier, not because it sounds like TC, but because of the mental anguish of not knowing. I went to my family doctor, not a urologist. He ordered the untrasound, which tells you if it's solid or not. Once it was known solid I went to the urologist. Something to consider.

Also, please relax and don't panic. I know it's hard, but you need a reality check. TC is pretty rare, and is very curable. Stay strong.

That's a great job getting you mom involved. Telling your parents about something like this is often the hardest thing you have to do. Good luck on the exam and please tell us what they find.

That's great that you are able to get in sooner than before!!! Did you show your mom this site by chance, could help put her mind at ease. Not sure how computer literate she is though. As Dadmo put it, all the best and please keep all of us posted!!!
