Hey guys, As I read and read about TC cancer, it concerns me even more. Well, I went to a Dr yesterday cause of my left swallon test thinking it was a possible STD. Well, I have no discharge or pain when I urinate so when feeling it, she came back and I made an appt w/ another Dr to have an ultrasound...Its my left testictle which is swallon a little over an egg size and very firm which arose her Suspicion of TC...anyone have these same type of symptoms? Thanks!

The symptom you have is consistant with TC but could also be a cyst, non cancerous growth,an infection or other possibilities..... Are you having any other symptoms...Heaviness in the scrotum, pain, dull pain in the abdomen and /or back etc....How long have you been having these symptoms???

An ultrasound is definately the way to go. When my husband was diagnoised it was in the emergency room- He had gotten out of the shower and noticed that one testical was swollen and came and showed me. I begged, threatened, and finally bargained for him to go to the emergency room (it was ten-thirty at night.) The ER doctor did an ultrasound and confirrmed it pretty much right then. We got final confirmation when we saw the urologist the next morning. An ultrasound will definately tell you what is going on.

My best advice is to get it done as soon as possible, then your mind won't wander hopefully you will get good news and put this behind you.

Best of luck, this is one test you want to fail! (Think Negative!)

I had a similar symptom of a swollen left testicle and It was TC but, in my case, the ultrasound did not show it as a mass because nearly the entire testicle had been taken over by the tumor. It was my blood markers that told the correct story.
TC diagnosed 4/3/06, [email protected]; Left I/O 4/10/06; Stage IIa Non-Seminoma, 100% Yolk Sac; Started 4xEP 5/22/06 with [email protected]; Finshed 4xEP 8/11, AFP normal, CT scans clear! Now on surveillance

Besides being more lazy lately, nothing really, I have always had back problems...but now that I work at a desk, I have noticed my momentum and energy has dropped dramatically. Its a bit painful at times, but mainly its very firm. The pain is usually when its I walk sometimes or get up from sitting for awhile. Of course since it is swallon and hard it is heaviness and the Dr on Wed. told me to keep wearing jockeys for support and no more boxers so it doesn't pull down while standing/walking and cause more irritation in pain.

thank you all for your input and yes I do have an appt on Tuesday 05 30 06 for my ultra sound....but, hey I have another question maybe someone will know this...I just started a new job in Feb and don't have insurance yet(of course this happens at this time) and I heard if diagnosed w/ TC, that I won't be eligible for Medical Insurance for like 5yrs....is this true?

Glad to see your going to get checked out.... If anything it will give you piece of mind..you'll have to pay the bill for the Ultrasound which is going to cost about $200-250.. The doctors office or radiology center will accept payments taylored to your income.. If diagnosed with TC the 5 year deal with insurance is not correct- usually at most the wait is 18-24 months from the time you are label to be in remission.. If you do have TC you would probably want to see if you would qualify for medicaid.. Hope fully it doesn't come to that. Best of Luck FresnoGuy!!!!!!! DON

Ok, so i've now done the ultrasound last week and my Dr office called and told me to go to Urology, they said my ultrasound was very suspicious but also inconclusive. So that poses another problem that I went to Urology appt today and they actual denied me cause I don't have insurance and they gave me my $80 deposit back. Thats after they said I had low blood pressure, which is worrying me now. This last Friday night (2nights ago) while shopping and eating at 9:30pm I got very light headed, dizzy, started sweating and wanted to pass out, is this something to be very concerned about for a possibility of TC? I didn't read those symptoms on some sites. I made an appt w/ my doctor to do some more testing w/ out having to go to the UMC that I went to today for Urology, but anyone have suggestions where to go online or to call for insurance help??

It doesn't sound like it's related to TC, but I'm not a doctor. I would definately get that checked out. There may be something besides TC going on inside.

BTW, I get very same symptoms when shopping (very light headed, dizzy, started sweating and wanted to pass out), but that is only when I am watching my wife at the register with our credit card
