Ok heres the deal I'm 19 and very active. I landscape all day which is very tough and then I usually come home and lift weights. Well one day I was working out I hit my testicles with one of the dumbells and it hurt. The thing is though ever since that happened like aweek ago my right testicle has felt really weird, like different. It's not like throbbing pain or anything but I cant explain it. So i went to a doctor and she examined my testicles and the only thing that hurt was when the doctor put pressure on my lower right testicle. The doc thinks its a deep bruise, but wants me to get an ultrasound. The hting is I didnt even hit my nuts that hard, I have definetly hit them harder before. I have no swelling and as far as i know, no lumps. But this awkard feeling is still here. I don't think I have ever been this nervous. Im suppose to get my ultrasound tomorrow and to be honest i'm terrified. I still haven't told my parents and I'm going away to college in a month and I' m just praying its not TC.

Welcome to the site Icemaountain.
I'm not a doctor but it does sound like it was just bruised which I would think would be able to be seen with the ultrasound, which is why your doctor wants you to get one. I wouldn't be too worried that its TC, BUT even if it is, please know that you will be cured and the survival rate for TC is well into the 90 percent tile, and that is when its in advanced stages which yours more than likely isn’t even close to!!! Also, don’t be afraid to tell your parents what is going on. I know, easier said than done!Hey, I’m 34 and was nervous as HELL to tell my mom that I was diagnosed with it, so you are certainly not alone. Get the ultrasound and see what the results are. You should get them in about a day or two. Also, don’t be too concerned about the short amount of time that you have before you leave for college. I discovered my ‘abnormality’ on Sunday night, saw my doctor and got an ultrasound on Monday, got the results on Tuesday, met my urologist on Wednesday, had the left one removed on Thursday, so as you can see, they move VERY QUICKLY!!!
We’ll all be praying for you that it all works out!!! Please keep us posted.4/11/06 Markers: AFP-41.0 & HCG-88

Hello and Welcome
It doesn't sound like TC to me sounds like a injury and the doctor want to rule out any problems. Don't worry about the ultrasound I had another one today and there is nothing to it.
Good Luck

Thanks alot i appreciate the support, the only thing that worries me is that I really didn't my testicle that hard, do they bruise easy? probably a stupid question but im curious. The awkard feeling that i have in my right testicle kinda bothers me, like its different than the left, all started after i got hit.

From what you're describing I would agree with the doctor that it's a deep bruise. It reasonable for the doctor to order an ultra sound as a way to confirm the diagnosis.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. Don't worry they will scan them both the ultrasound will be able to show fluid in or around it like the bruise that you might have caused. Just ask the person doing the test to show you what they are doing and they can tell if it is fluid or a mass. And yes they can bruise easy not a lot there to protect them.

If the testicle is hit just right it certainly can bruise. It's not impossible that that it was bleeding inside and now it's just healing. Just like any other black and blue.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. Full open RPLND 10/13/04. All Clear since.

I really wouldn't lose any sleep over this (other then from the pain). It good that your getting everthing checked but I do think you will be ok. And don't worry about future tc, a knock in the nads won't cause it.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. Good ultra sound reports are so common it's amazing. Most people who visit us have some sort of lump or bump that has them scared to death and when the ultrasound comes back as a cyst or bruise they post a thanks for your help and then their gone. If you search around on the forum look for people who have posted fewer then 10-15 times and most likely the were declaired clean.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. This is a good and bad story. My niece's husband coaches baseball. He was hit with a ball right in the testicle. He had an ultrasound done of the testicle which caught a glimpse of the kidney, nothing wrong with the testicle but when they investigated the shadow on the kidney, they found a malignant tumor as big as a peach. He has had surgery, no chemo. It has been three years, so far so good. He had absolutely no symptoms. So sometimes accidents happen for a reason. Always better to be safe then sorry. Good luck. DianneSpouse: I/O 8/80; embryonal, seminoma, teratoma; RPLND 9/80 - no reoccurrence - HRT 8/80; bladder cancer 11/97; reoccurrence: 4X
Son: I/O 11/04; embryonal, teratoma; VI; 3XBEP; relapse 5/08; RPLND 6/18/08 - path: mature teratoma

Ultrasound
Monday at 8 pm is when i get my ultrasound, I dont know if i can wait that long, even though im starting to think some of it is in my head. At work today when i thought about it, my testicle will start to feel different, like heavier, but then when i dont think about it, it goes away i dont understand it, but i just pray its not TC, but sometimes i feel like im doomed and i have it. Very nervous just want this behind me =/
