  • Lump and exercise relation?

Hey all. I discovered this forum while browsing the web yesterday and thought I'd see if anyone here had any info for me.

I discovered a really small lump (maybe 1/2 to 1/4 the size of a pea...quite small) on my right testicle about a month ago. Through masturbation and showering and stuff I'm pretty sure I would have noticed this had it appeared any earlier.

I first discovered this a few days after running my first marathon (which was hard as hell) and I'm wondering if this lump could be related to my running in some way (stress related?). I'm also a pretty active long distance triathlete who spends a fair amount of time cycling.

Basically I'm wondering if anyone knows of a relation between intense or long exercise and testicular lumps.

I'm heading off to see a doctor today or tomorrow, but I wanted to ask anyway to see if anyone here knows.

    Thanks in advance!

    Atropos:
Your doing the right thing getting that checked too many people put off simple exams in the hope that the problem will just go away. It's hard to tell what you have but in general cancer forms a soild tumor that feels like it's part of the testicle. It wont be soft our liquid feeling and must be part of the testicle. Also as far as I know exercise cannot cause tc. Let us know what the doctor finds.

I was wondering more if the lump, assuming exercise caused it, was unrelated to TC.

I couldn't get in to a doctor today so I have to wait till Saturday. I'll update on what he says.

Exercise should not cause lumps on the testicles unless they are becoming bruised and then it would be a more general ache then a specific bump. The only way you can be sure that it's not tc is to have a doctor check it.
