If it's not attached to the testicle, then it doesn't sound like testicular cancer. It's good that you're having it checked, though.Scott

A cyst isn't cancerous, it's a collection of fluid. When are you scheduled with the urologist?Scott

With the lump not being attached to the testicle it's very unlikely that it's any form of cancer. With that being the case I don't know that you would need to miss any time from work.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. my lump has now got bigger its now about half the size of one of my testicles now, and starting to get a little sore as it protrudes out of my scrotum and is rubbing on my underwear when walking and especially when at work, hope the urologist appointment hurrys up dont know if its going to get bigger i hope not. how big can a cyst grow or is there no limit

If it's growing at that rate you should certainly call the doctor or get yourself to the ER. No cyst or infection should be growing that quickly without getting medical treatment.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. been down a&e today as you said and three doctors have said it is a cyst and its looking like its going to burst anyday now they have given me some antibiotics and said if it gets any worse in the next few days to come straight back and they will remove it but i think i would prefer it to burst rather than have it surgically removed but if it does burst do u think i should still see the urologist when my appointment arrives

Don't wait for it to burst. If that shold happen you will get one heck of an infection, and the complications of having your testicles swimming in puss could be quite bad.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Yes go to the doctor infections can cause a lot of problems don't mess around with anything in that area unless you don't want kids and want to get really sick. The URO knows what is best in that area. Also if it does burst you better be on the phone to the doctor to let them know.
