  • I am sooo scared

    Hello,

I just turned 40 and have come from my ultrasound, where they found a mass the about 1 inch in diameter in my right testicle. I go back to a uroligist in a couple days. I guess to do blood work. Mass was solid. Right Testicle has been aching for about 2 to 3 months.

Doctor says it could be calcium, but my mind won't let me think positive.

    I am scared to death!

Hang in there- at least you caught it when you did. Waiting is the worst! If it does turn out to be TC, remember it is VERY curable and you WILL make it through this. If you are going to get diagnoised with Cancer, this is the cancer to have!

    We have been there!

Are their any other signs to indicate spreading to other areas?

        wjhall:
Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you were able to find us. There are symptoms of spread that can be detected without a doctor but believe me if I tell you what they are you will think you have them all, it's quite normal for that to happen. I'm not a doctor but in my opinion if you have a solid mass in the testicle the testicle will need to be removed so that they can do a section of the mass to determine what it is. At your age if you do have tc it will most likely be seminoma and that may not show up on your blood work. Just be prepared for them to tell you that you are going to lose one of the boys.

What is seminoma? How is that different?

Hang in there wjhall. Even if the testicle is removed and it is TC, you will be fine.

Like Dadmo said, it looks as though they will have to remove it since the ultrasound showed it to be a solid mass.. thats the only way they can determine for sure, if it is TC. But remember, you will still have full function down there even with one testicle..

The link that Dadmo sent you is a great site,,, check out their main page,,, i learned so much from that site in the early stages of my diagnosis.

Keep us updated and ask all the question you want.

My next doctors appointment is Friday July 21. This will be my first visit with the urologist. Go over ultra sound results and probably do blood work.

I am worried that I have waited too long and it has spread. I have noticed something for a long time. I just thought it was scar tissue from vasectomy 14 years ago. Dull ache comes and goes for the last 2 to 3 months. Sometimes no pain for a week or more.

I am sure they will remove the testicle. I am fine with that. It hurts anyway. I just pray that it is benign or seminoma that has stayed local at worst.

The ultra sound did not show any finger coming off of the mass, which the radiologist said was good. Also nothing else was found in my abdomen area.

Waiting to know is awful, thank goodness for Valium.

With all the different forms of treatment the people on this forum have gone through the most common complaint is havein to wait for results.

The waiting and the anxiety is the worst. I am 42 and I waited three months before I saw the doctor. I imagined the worst and had to wait for nearly two weeks before I hd the operation and 5 weeks to get the results. Fortunately it was only stage one and now I am on surveillance. Try not to let the brain run riot about thinking the worst and use the forum for support. Good luck.
