another trip to the docs office!

Well in the morning I will be taking another trip to get new ultrasound and exam ( about the 4th or 5th one ). Starting to feel a little on edge now and realy hate to go. I will post any info Thursday and get your input. Thanks for your support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Don't let the lack of markers throw the doctors off. If you happen to have seminoma your markers might never rise. The older you get the more likely it is to be seminoma and at 34 seminoma would be my guess. Good luck with the ultrasound, hopefully it's something benign.

Just wanted to thank everyone whom replyed to my thread, Its great to know people are out there willing to share this type of info. I have an appt.
with my doc on wed, Aug 2nd, for yet another ultrasound and exam, My 5th I think since January. My blood work has been normal at this time. Will ask alot of questions about this!

Solid masses are bad -- see another urologist, my urologist took my testicle out even when the radiologist said it wasn't cancer b/c of my age (20??). The urologist also did something called a frozen section which can help determone if there is cancer there while you are still under (in my case there was)-- no need to mess around, one works just fine, as many of the fine people here can attest to.

I agree with the guys....find another urologist ASAP, transfer your US results and insist on blood markers and a CAT if the ultrasound is inconclusive. Watching a solid mass is inconceivable to me. Keep in mind a lot of docs, even urologists, can go their whole career without seeing a case of TC so you must be an advocate for your own health. Act soon, good luck, and let us know what happens.

Be very carfull with this. A soild mass in the testicle is a very bad sign. I would get a second urologists opinion. This is only my opinion but I think most doctors would want that removed and the sooner the better.

My lump stayed about the same size for a couple months then seemed to get smaller at the end doctor told me that wasn't abnormal. If it is a mass I would consult with another doctor to make sure all is well. My labs were still very low at surgery AFP was 1 and BHCG was I think 6 or 7 some have numbers that go very high while some like me the number stay lower, go figure. Even if the bloodwork is normal I would be very watchful and ask a lot of questions as there have been other with normal markers but they still found cancer. My doctor told me if not fluid filled it comes out and we check it way too much to risk. He was right and they found cancer and now I will live a long life .

I would be very cautious with any solid mass in the testicle. Of course the fact that it hasn't grown sounds like good news. Was your blood work, ie tumor markers, normal? Also, an MRI or CT scan that included the scrotum could provide additional information. You might want to ask about these tests and also consult with a second urologist.

In Jan. of this year, I had pain and swelling in my right one. Went to Doc he said it was an infection and treated with meds. Week later went back and he said "Looks better but swelling still not down as it should", so he ordered an ultrasound, they found a mass and made me a appt. with an urologist. He was worried about the lump and ordered another ultrasound and blood work.
I hve been going to the Urologist almost every other month for new ultrasound every since and he said its not growing and wants to keep eye on it. Should I be Worried or what? Does any one have any ideas?
