He has not given you a good enough answer. Is he a urologist? My suggestion would be to quickly see another doctor. I'm not sure what he meant by "mixed mass" - but, having learned from my experiences with my son and his diagnoses with TC x 2, the first thing that worries me is that he used the word "mass" and not cyst. Then, for him to tell you he's not sure and to come back in 6 months - sounds absolutely crazy to me. Please see another doctor. Joe's Mom - Nancy[Co-Survivor - My Son Joe: (RasJoe)

I would get a definition from the doctor as to what he means by mixed mass. If the mass appers to be soild it should be investigated further. Because of your age (35) "if" you have tc it might be seminoma which may not show up in your blood work. I think you need to be a bit aggressive here and perhaps see another urologist.Last edited by dadmo; 08-08-06, 10:15 AM.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. You have a mass and your doc is not too sure if it's TC or anything bad...come back in 6 months?????I wonder if it was his testicle if he'd just sit back and wait 6 months. I doubt it.
Please take your US films and and go see another doctor...a urologist.Retired moderator. Husband, left I/O 16Dec2005, stage I seminoma with elevated b-HCG, no LVI, RTx15 (25Gy). All clear ever since.

Sounds like time for a 2nd opinion are you close to the University I would be willing to bet they see more then a local URO. 6 months is way too long between visits for a "Not too sure" from the doctor. Remember just because they are a URO doesn't mean they have seen many or any cases of TC. Call around and find out who has worked TC cases in the past you might have to do some homework but it will be worth it.
Just my $.02

Mostly fluid? What does that mean, only a bit of cancer? It is certainly second opinion time. Don't worry yourself sick over this but get it checked again.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III.
