  • General Ache

    Hey all !
I am 40 years old with no medical problems. One month ago I woke up and my right testicle was sore to the touch but not real painful. Over the next few days the pain subsided to a general discomfort so I went to see my doctor. He checked me, said he could not find any lumps and such and said it was probably "non-specific" epiditymitis. I was given doxycycline for 10 days. Two weeks later I still had the lingering general achiness in my groin area so I went back. He cheked me once again, still no lumps and even checked my prostate. All normal. He put me on Cipro for 10 more days and sent me for an ultrasound. Ultrasound was normal. No lumps, masses, or cysts were evident. The tech said everything looked fine. I still have a general achiness that comes and goes. More discomfort if I am sitting for a long time. My questions are, what could this be? Is this a possible precursor to T/C? How long can I expect to feel like this? Can it go away and return? Sorry for the long post. Just want to give you the info. Any advice or input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys and God bless you all.

If you are still having problems then a trip to the URO might be in order. It could be that you a sports hernia or it could be just like the doctor stated. In any event the URO is the doctor to see if you have problems for over a month and the family doctor can't figure it out. At least if the URO states that it doesn't look serious then you can sleep a bit better. I would call ASAP as many URO's are booked out over a month since they spend a good deal of time doing surgery so office visit time is limited.

      general ache

Thanks for the reply. I think I will schedule a check with the URO. I don't want to big deal this but better safe than sorry. Do you know if the ultrasounds are reliable? Mine was normal but I just don't want to get a false sense of hope. I am afraid they may miss something. Should I ask for a blood test? Also, could it be varicocle? Thanks again!

It could be many things the URO is the best option he will get a copy of the ultrasound if he feels that he needs to look at it, or they may have you stop and get a DVD of it to take to the visit. The Ultrasound is a very good test to find a mass that is very small my tech and doctor said it can pick stuff up that you would NOT be able to feel. I am going to bet that what you are feeling is just some type of infection or other problem that isn't cancer related. T/C is very rare so that is the great news. The bad news is that there are many other things that can go wrong with the man parts that are easy to fix if they are addressed so it is best to not delay.
        Good Luck
