  • Ache in left testical

    Hi all,

Over the last few days I have been having a dull ache in my left testical, there appears to be of what I can only describe as a lumpy string like issue at the back of my testical, at the top/back of my testical appears to be a small lump pee size, if I squeeze that its quite tender, can anyone tell me if that sounds like the epididymis? If so should this be aching?

The lump on my left testical appears to be a little bigger than the one on my right, its in the same position though.

Can anyone advise on this matter please?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks

Although we can't be sure, it sounds as though it's likely to be epididymitis, an infection that is often treated with antibiotics. The best course is to have a doctor check it out.

Thanks for your post scott, much appriciated.

One more question, if it is an infection will this lump go down/disapper, bearing in mind I have had this lump for ages now (id say a year maybe longer) and it's the only time now its been aching a little, will the doctor know there and then what it is by feeling?

      Regards

If it's an infection it will certainly go down. If you have had the infection for a long time it may leave some small scar tissue behind.

thanks for all your replies, just come back from the doctors and he's checked me over, over the last few days I have been suffering from a dull ache in my lower back, I mentioned this too, he checked my left testical and he says the lump that's their is suppose to be, he called it the epididymis.

I have strained my back at work so he says it that could be causing the dull ache in the left testical, he has given me some pain killers for a week, if the pain doesnt go away by then (he thinks it will) I need to go back and see him.

Just goes to show that not every lump down there is serious, I have been worried over the last week though because of the pain and the lump, it's very easy to mistake the lump for something else though, just wouldnt of thought that a lump of that size (pee size) would be part of the anatomy.

Thanks for all your posts guys.

If the pain continues call the doctor back and see if you can't be scheduled to see a urologist.
