  • Concerned any advice appreciated

    Hi,

I will explain a brief history of myself before I explain my current symptoms.

I am 39 now. When I was 34 I was taken into hospital with ulcers in my stomach that had started to bleed.

They attempted to put a catheter in at the time which took a good 45 minutes or longer for them to eventually get it in.

Now they did ask me at the time did i have any prostate problems but I said no as I was really to ill at the time to talk much with the problem I was in for. There must of been 4 or 5 different people that tried to get the catheter in but they seemed to get it so far and it would not go further. Anyway the doctor did eventually get it in but it did cause me a great deal of pain.

After they treated me for my internal bleeding they referred me to urologist because my PSA level showed up in my blood work at 23.

The first time I saw the urologist they did not really give it the gentle way and said there was a possible chance it could be a form of prostate cancer and arranged to do some other test (which never took place) as my PSA level on another blood test dropped to normal levels again.

I was still suppose to check in with the urologist for out patient appointments every few months as my family history and my father died at only age 50 from prostate cancer...he had been passing blood for sometime and had gone to the doctors who just sent him away with antibiotics. Eventually he did have scans and many other test but it was to late. Within the time he had his first scan he had died two weeks later as what the doctor told him is that there was nothing they could do as it had spread all over his body including his brain.

So I think with my family history this is why they wanted to keep regular checkups with me.

Anyway for around a two weeks now I started getting pain while urinating. Not a great deal of pain very uncomfortable. Now in the last two days I have also stared with a dull ache in my groin area. The only way I can describe it is that as if you had a football hit you in your private area that sort of pain you feel afterwards. The pain also has now started to ache around my lower back kidney area. well I say my kidney area but I am no doctor but it is in my lower back and the same kind of pain that is in my groin area a dull ache that is like pulsating on and off which I have as I write this post.

I have been taking the usual pain killers to see if it will help but it still seems to do nothing and the ache makes me feel a little sick at times.

Anyway I just wanted your opinion if you think I should give it another week or tow to see if things settle down or do i need to see a doctor.

    Thanks for listening.

I don't suspect this is testicular cancer, but I would absolutely call your doctor about it.
