An ulstrasound is very accurate in determining tumor masses even in testes that don't have a visible lump. If you feel that you have an abnormal testicle, make an appoitment with a urologist and get another US for peace of mind. I really doubt you have TC since one US has cleared you. Good luck,

Disappearing bump?
Hi there,
I have a weird situation and was hoping someone might have an idea of what is going on. About 3-4 weeks ago I began having a dull ache in my right testicle/groin area. I had just started back to the gym so I dismissed it as being a slight groin pull but it didn’t seem to get any better.
I started doing some research and started to fear that it may be TC so about 2 weeks ago while sitting in a hot bath I examined both testicles and sure enough I found a small bump down the front of the right testicle. I saw a GP the next morning and she did an exam and didn’t think there was anything wrong.
The ache didn’t get any better so 3 days later I went back and saw a different GP; he did an exam and found the right to be enlarged somewhat and said it might be orchitis but ordered an US to be sure. I’m now 9 days into a 14 day prescription of Sulfatrim and the ache does seem improved especially in the last 3 days or so but can still be quite noticeable at times. I also had the US 2 days ago and both testes were normal. The doc doing the US pointed out the homogenous nature of the testes and said that was an important feature to look for. I have seen a few US images online of normal and cancerous testes and what I saw on the screen looked just like the normal ones. He assured me there was no sign of cancer and his report to my GP would be no different than what he had just told me.
Before I ramble on too long, here’s the weird nature of my bump which is still there – sort of. I can only find it after I’ve been sitting in the tub for 5-10 minutes. At this time the testicles are larger and the skin of the scrotum is real thin. The bump is at the front of the right one and seems too far down to be a part of the epididymis. It is tiny (like the tip of a ball-point pen) and seems to have both a circular and tubular part to it. It is quite firm and painless. It just seems to appear after sitting in the hot water for awhile; it takes a while to find it but once I do there’s no mistaking it for a bump. The strange thing is that in as little as 5 minutes after I’m out of the tub, the bump is gone and I can’t find it no matter how long I try – at this point the testicle feels smooth with no bumps whatsoever. Since I found it 2 weeks ago it doesn’t seem to have grown any and as mentioned; the only time I can actually find it is in the hot bath. From what I’ve read US is very accurate so there wouldn’t be much chance of it actually missing a tumor would there? Should I get a second US? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated? Thanks for taking the time to read this.Tags: None
