  • I finally went to the doctor...should I be happy?

In a previous post I described what I thought to be TC. Well I went to the family doctor at the beginning of this week. He poked around and said that none of my lmyph nodes were enlarged and my right testicle did not appear to be any larger than the other. The doctor went on to say that it is normal to have a testicle enlarge and shrink. I also gave them a pee sample and a blood sample. Well they called today and said all my blood tests came back normal. The doctor said that if the pain in the groin lasts for more than a month then to call him back and he would send me to a specialist.
If I did have cancer would it have showed up on the blood or pee test?? The doctor definately knows more than I do about the subject. He checked me all over and said I was okay.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Not necessarily. I believe the urine sample is to check for infection. The blood test should have been for AFP and hCG tumor markers. Did he give you the numerical measures? If they're in normal range, it's a good sign but not conclusive, because not all tumors cause elevated markers.

Anyway, stay in tune with what's going on and don't hesitate to call your doctor back if need be.
