  • Heavyness in survivor

    Hi again,

I am 9 months clear from my initial stage one seminoma diagnosis. I only had IO, Currently on surveillance.

Recently I have been running more as to keep myself healthy. And I started to notice a heavyness in my survivor,(just this past week) now I do my standard check every month on the survivor, the last one was no different, no lumps or swelling. Is it possible that I just pulled my groin, or should I be calling my doctor to make a sonogram appointment.
Should be noted that I have a little bit of pain that I would assume is a pulled muscle more up and towards my hip.
I have no feeling of either hip area pressure or heavyness when I am laying down or standing, it only seems to be notici if I am sitting.
If this is a silly question I'm sorry, these fourms have really helped me through this year.

Hi! Sometimes every little ache and pain makes you think the worse. My husband had only I/O too and he was stage 1A seminoma. He’s been on surveillance also about 8 months and so far clear. Bur he does get a little pain around his surgery scar and sometimes a little ache in his survivor. He does check every month too but no lumps or anything suspicious. If you feel worried about what might be going on then go see your doctor and let him know. Maybe they can do an ultrasound and give you peace of mind. Just remember, you body is on high alert right now and every little pain worries you, specially being on surveillance.

Thanks for the response, I am going to the urologist Wednesday to get a little check up, and see what he says. I know the mind tends to over blow everything now. But I would like to be cautious.

Because there are no lumps or swelling on the testicle, I feel like it's less likely a new cancer.

I've never felt what some call "heaviness" , so really don't know what to say other than if you feel concerned, mention it to your doc & let him/her decide how to proceed.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Thanks Dave, after some more research, I found that the lower abdominal muscles share nerves with the scrotum area so it is very possible I strained an abdominal muscle and it shared nerve feeling. To call it pain would be an overstatement.

Still gonna see the Doc tomorrow just so he can check the survivor and see what he says.

Hi, just a quick update, saw the doctor today. Pretty standard, told him what I was feeling, he checked the survivor. He said he didn't feel anything then suggested to get a sonogram just to be sure not to miss anything. He said it's likely nothing and very rare to have in both testicals in the same year. But better safe then sorry.
May have to wait until after the holiday to get it done, I'll be traveling. The feeling has been becoming less noticable each day so I am optimistic.
