  • i'm back again - with a swollen right testicle

    Hi all,

I'm afraid to say I'm back again. I have had intermittent right testicular pain and swelling for the last 2 years now. THe last month it has been almost constant. THe pain is mild, but the swelling is undeniable. There are no discrete lumps, but the right testicle is almost twice the size of the left.

I have had 2 previous "normal" ultrasound scans, normal bloods on 2 occasions (including tumour markers), and completed a 2 week course of cipro (antibiotics).

I have no other symptoms - I'm fit and healthy, no fevers, no weight loss etc.

I've got an appointment with the urologist in 10 days time.

I can't help worrying about this. I wonder what's wrong with me. I'm pretty sure it's not cancer, but I can't help worrying about it. I guess he's going to repeat all the tests again, and give me another course of antibiotics.

Anyone out there with similar story to share?

Sept 2010 Single dose carboplatin (AUC x 7)
    Dec 2010 Tumour markers normal.
    Mar 2011 Follow-up CT scan - clear.
Sept 2011 CT and CXR - clear.

If it's grown to that size the ultrasound will almost certainly show something. It may not be as serious as cancer but you certainly deserve some answers.
