  • Hard pea lump on top of testicles.

Hi, I'm 16 years old and about 2 years ago, I discovered a hard, painless pea lump on top of my testicles. It maybe is connected to the epididymis but im not sure. When the scrotum is relaxed, i can actually hold the lump with 2 of my fingers and pull it. It doesnt seem to be growing out of anything but its connected to something. I also have lumps on one of my collarbone, but i think its how the bone is because the lump is connected to the bone and is hard as the bone. I sometimes have some slight ache on the lower abdomen but that happens very rarely, maybe caused by something else. I just want some thoughts before going to the doctor. My questions are:

    1. What are the chances of this being testicular cancer?
    2. How often would you feel the ache on the lower abdomen if it has spread?
    3. Are cysts of the epididymis usually hard because thats what i'm told?

and if I have any other questions, I will post it later. Thanks.

    Hey buddy,

The chance that you have testicular cancer is very small, since TC is such a rare disease, but any and all testicular abnormalities must be checked out by a doctor just to be on the safe side. You may just be feeling the epididymis, but as you say it may also be a cyst or some other type of growth. Your doctor will be able to tell you for sure what it is. Have you mentioned this to your parents?

Everyone has a different experience with TC, so it is hard to say if your lower abdomen ache is connected to what you are feeling on your testicle. There are hundreds of causes of an abdomen ache.

I can't speak for everyone on the hardness of a cyst of epididymis, by personally, mine was very hard......like a golf ball in a garden hose.

Get checked out, and let us know how things go! I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I agree with Bobby, go in and get checked out by a doctor.
      Let us know the outcome.
I expect you will be fine, but wouldn't it be nice to hear it from a doctor?

            Marah,

Don't even worry yourself with these kinds of questions and trying to figure this out on your own. Go ahead and get to the doctor asap and he/she will be able to tell you for certain if you have anything to be concerned about.

Let us know how you are.

              Hey Marah,
I believe they are talking about how they look in an ultrasound (I know because there were calcifications in my cancerous testis that looked white on the film). Ultrasounds aregreat tools for the determination of scrotal masses.
