  • As the title of this bit of the forum "Do I Have Testicular Cancer?"

No idea yet... I've had a very very tiny, smaller than the head of a pin, lump since I can remember (certainly early teens, I'm now 36) which suddenly (last two weeks) dramatically changed shape and size.

The lump is hard, definitely no 'give' in it, firmly attached to the underside of my right testicle. I gather from what I've read herein that this is not exactly good news. The lump is now about half the size of my little (pinky I think the Merkins call it) finger nail.

Already been to my GP and have a US scan scheduled for tomorrow... here's hoping eh?

For some reason I keep bearing in mind something that a, now no longer with us due to heart attack , friend of mine used to say a lot...

"Don't take life too seriously... it ain't permanent!" Bizarely comforting in a way

    Cheers,

    Adam.

    Hey Adam,
Welcome to the Forum. The change in size and consistency does sound somewhat worrisome as is the speed at which it happened. Has it been causing pain during examination (not everyone experiences pain as a symptom)? A good call on your part is to have gone to see your GP and get an ultrasound ordered. The results will likely be available immediately after they are reviewed by the radiologist. Let us know what happens with your examination, and everyone here will be able to provide guidance. Cheers,

11.22.06 -Dx the day before Thanksgiving
12.09.06 -Rt I/O; 100% seminoma, multifocal; Stage I-A; Surveillance; Six years out! I consider myself cured.

      Hi Fed,

Yes the testicle aches a little as I examine it, although this is a little 'hit and miss' in that it's not a constant reaction to examination, sometimes it's completely painless other times it aches - I also get a mild ache in my lower right abdomen, again this is variable, sometimes immediately after I examine myself and at other times for no apparent reason.

      Tomorrow will tell, hopefully, all.

However, I smoke, I drink too much, I eat a disproportionate amount of fatty food and almost certainly do too little exercise... I guess you roll the dice eh?

      Cheers for the reply,

      Adam.

Good Luck with your ultrasound today. Either way, you're not delaying and
          that is a good thing.

Thanks all, had my scan earlier and it looks like good news. I have to wait about a week for the full results but the sonographer (sp?) didn't think there was anything to worry about.

Will let you know more as I do

            Cheers,

            Adam.

This sounds like a good start. Hopefully once you get the report from the radiologist, all the news will be good. Cheers,
