  • Following Ultra Sound

I felt a lump on my left testicle two weeks ago. I went to the Dr. and he felt that it was in the epyderimis (?) and was likely a spermataseal. I had an Ultra Sound this week. The testicles were normal and symetrical. There was a small smooth mass (I guess in the epydermis) that the Radiologist said was the same consistency as testicular matter, and was likely begnign. They are ref. me to a Uriologist.

Does anyone know what this might be? What is begnign testicular matter?

If the mass is in the epididymis it will not be testicular cancer. We get lot's of people checking in here with lumps and bumps that are quite harmless but scarry as all heck until the dignoses is confirmed. Check out this web site for some explainations on causes of testicular pain. As long as the doctor knows that the lump is on the epididymis you should be fine.

If he/she thinks the lumps is part of the testicle then we have a whole different situation. It's quite possible to have a non cancerous tumor in the testicle, the problem with that is in order to confirm the diagnosis the tumor needs to be examined and that is usually done by removing the testicle. Do you know if the doctor plans on any further testing?

They are sending me to a Urologist. I will know more after that appointment.

They have you going to the right place but don't assume anything bad. If the person reading the ultrasound said it's on the epididymis your going to be fine.

          Urologist

I finally was able to get in to a Urologist! Everything is okay. Either a cyst or a hydrocele (sp?) and is not on the testicle. He assured me it is not cancer.

              Thanks and good advice

That is basically what the Doc said. If it changes or starts bothering me, I'm to let him know.
