  • hi there

hi guys, have just been reading so thought i would join up,

about 5 days ago i noticed a lump on my left testicle fractionly larger then a bb on the epididymis, i left it for a few days but then curiosity got the better of me so i started to research on the net when i found this site, and read every one urging people to get checked out. so today i booked in at the docs and got it checked out, after checking me she said it looks like an enlarged epididymis, but to be sure is sending me for an ultrasound.

so now im waiting for the letter that says when i have my appointment. to say im nervous and scared is an understatement, can anyone tell me how long the results normally take?

Waiting for results is always difficult. Quite often it can take a week to hear anything from your doctor. One thing you should be aware of is that if the lump is on the epididymis it can't be testicular cancer. I think you doctor is just being careful but my guess is that you're going to be fine.

If it makes you feel any better, once you have the ultrasound, in most cases the results are given to you in less than an hour. It's a very easy procedure, and very effective in finding solid testicular masses (95% indicative of cancer).
4/26/07 - mass confirmed w/ no elevated markers
        4/27/07 - left I/O
        5/2/07 - Dx: 100% seminoma stage 1A
        Surveillance: CT/blood (6 month cycle)
        4/27/13 - 6 years cancer free!
