  • Very Scared, Please Help

Hello, i am 17 years old and since about a few days ago i have been feeling a slight pain on my left testicle. I also feel some pea size lumps on the sides of my testicles, there not on the testicle just on the side, and when i touch it i do feel some pain, but then the pain goes away. However i heard having pea size lumps were normal. I also feel on my left testicle that on the edge there is something, im not sure if it is normal? So anyone who has experienced what i have or know anything about it please reply, i would truly appreciate it. I hope i do not have Testicular cancer.

did the pain and presence of lumps start all of a sudden?

mine was a slow process i guess....and i never felt any lumps, just lots of pain...so i hesitated to go to the doctor until the pain was just too much. (not a good idea)

i think it goes without saying that you should most definitely get it checked out. dont be afraid to get it checked out. its probably the best thing you can do for yourself right now...(psychologically and physically)

they may or may not set you up for an ultrasound...which would be good. sometimes they can determine what type of lumps they are from their shape/size/location....so i strongly encourage you to get it checked out.

at the very least it might help to start easing your mind.

keep us up to date and good luck.

      Alone299,
Glad you found this site, and you are definately not alone on this! Go to http://tcrc.acor.org and check out the general information. This will guide you on a proper self exam and the anatomy of the testicle. There are many things that it could be other than TC. That said, PLEASE, PLEASE do not allow fear or embarassment to prevent you from going to a doctor (preferably a urologist) ASAP (like, this week!) There are too many stories on this site of young guys who wait or are afraid to tell their parents and that is not a good idea. TC is highly curable, especially if caught early. Worry accomplishes nothing. Take a deep breath, take action, and make an appointment! Let us know what the result is.

        hey..

its not a lump, its like a ball, like a little ball rolling around outside the testicle

          Alone299:
What you are describing sounds likely a cyst or hydrocele and most likely not associated with testicular cancer. It should still be checked by a urologist as we are not doctors and can only give our opinions.

            also

it might even be on the testicle, im not really sure. I feel the ball on both testicles, but i cant tell if its on it, or around it. If its on it does it mean its cancer?

IT doesn't mean that it is cancer if it is attached, but it does raise the chances quite a bit.. If it is attached there are plenty of other things other then cancer tht it could be... It could also be some kind of infection that could be cleared up with a week or so of medication.. Bottom line is you need to see a doctor to get a proper diagnosis... You'll feel much better once you do.. Good Luck!!!!!

                      hey back at ya,

So you have been feeling this lump(s) for a week now and have not made an appointment? Why the heck not??? Nobody here can diagnose you via this thread, and nobody here will say "it's probably nothing, ignore it", because some have ignored lumps and pains and lived to regret the delay in diagnosis and treatment. Chances are it will be something other than TC...but why would you want to take that risk? You need an exam by a urologist before you make yourself nuts (no pun intended) worrying about this.

Please take Karen's excellent advice and get yourself checked out pronto! If it's nothing to worry about, you'll be incredibly relieved, and if it is something to worry about, you'll get it treated. There's no down side.

I don't think anyone said that was normal, although it sure doesn't sound like cancer.

Following symptoms are not normally signs of testicular cancer: "A free floating lump in the scrotum, seemingly not attached to anything." That is what I think i have, that's why i thought it was normal. I find that on a site. Its free floating but its hard to tell whether or not its attached to the testicle. I am going to the doctor in a couple of days, i just want to ease my mind about everything
