  • Odd symptoms, please help.

    hello,

i'm almost 20 and not sexually active. some time ago, i felt this slight burn in my left testicle. it would be very pointed, i.e. in a certain region, and i would get that sensation from time to time in about the same place. it went away after i took some motrin and antibiotics (upon thinking it may be epididymitis). however, now, what happens is that i feel this dull ache in my upper/middle left leg which then appears to spread to the groin. it is not exactly "pain," but it is somewhat of a discomforting feeling. at times, i feel the hint of dullness in the left testicle. in addition, on some occasions, i have felt that my left testicle is slightly more sensitive than normal. though i was taking a warm shower today, and tested again and did not feel much of a difference between the two testicles. i take motrin and antibiotics from time to time. they appear to help, but again, i feel it has not been too effective. these episodes are dull pain are PERIODIC, however, since they tend to come and go.

i work out (lif tweights, run) regularly as well, which leads me to think there might be a connection. part of me has been really worried, but before i start really worrying, i'd like some opinions.

your input would be deeply appreciated.

    thank you.

    Hi Variance

It's possible you could have a groin pull. Sometimes with this injury, there will be pain in the testicle/scrotum and down the inside of the thigh on the same side. Because these muscles are used a lot, it is easy to re-injure the area and it can take some time to heal. I would lay off any leg excercise for a week and try a hot water bottle on the inside of your thigh. If you get worse or continue to have a pain, see the doc.

I forgot, here is a link to a site that shows the proper way to do a self exam.

The whole site has lots of great information.

I can see taking Motrin and/or other antibiotics to healan occasional pull but if you have to continuously look to these actions for relief then you may have something a doctor needs to take a look at......... Best of luck!!!!
