Kevin coping very well with all the treatment, After the 18 weeks chemo from March- August his Tumor markers are back to normal better than the Consultant expected as the cancer was quite advanced. He can walk on crutches but only around the house, After PET scan showed that there was some active cells left they decided to monitor him monthly as do other patients, but in October his was losing the use of his legs again so thats why Radiotherapy was use to shrink any compression on his spine. They decided to treat with more Chemo now to give the remaining cells a blast before they take hold again. The Consultant is pleased with Kevin's progress his liver is clear and his lung is clear it is the lymphnodes that are the major problem surgery is not an option as they are to near the spinal cords, He had already had a 6 hour op on his spine to try to save his legs. It has been a long struggle the last 9 months but we will get there in the end. the only thing he is not looking forward to is losing all his hair again as he had just got it all back after the last lot of chemo. but thats teenagers for you. But he is in good spirits and as the help of family and his friends to help him through it all.I would just like to say that this site if you have any queries you can find someone going through or have had similar problems with the effects of chemo and advice who to handle things.

I am glad you have told your parents, My son never told me about a lump that kept coming and going and was going to Doctor's with a pain in his side after weeks of painkillers he started to lose the use of his legs. Consultants found out that he had spinal compression due to secondary cancers they found these before the actual testical cancer he had stage 3 Teretoma and had spread to liver lung and lymphnodes He was 17 at the time and had 4 rounds of bep chemo finished in August in Oct had 5 days radiotherapy and just started 3 rounds of TIP chemo which will take up to Xmas. All this has happened since march, but alot of it could of been avoided if he only told me earlier and he has found out the hard way he is now in a wheel chair. His life is on hold but yours need not be I would not like any parent to go through what we have gone through this year it is so treatable.

Jesse,
Your Mom and Dad will understand- and God will too.
Try not to worry about how others will react. You have no idea of what you are dealing with until you get it checked out.
I hope to read a post after you see a doctor THIS WEEK.
Go and get it checked out, and remember the odds are with you.

well Scott i told my parents last night which wa very akqward (or however u spell it) i literally stood infront of there door for anh our thinking if i should knock and everytime i heard them coming out of the door id run back into the kitchen LOL but then finallly about 10 seconds to the end of the hour i descided i was going to count back from 10 and jsut do it.... so i did i knocked and told them they seemed VERY worried like i was going to die or something but tried to tell them i was reserching it on the internet and the odds are very low of me having it and even if i did it very easiyl cired ion most cases....

Jesse, the odds are in your favor that what you're feeling is something other than testicular cancer, but it's always best to play it safe and get a lump checked out. Testicular cancer can usually be cured, and the sooner it is discovered, the less treatment it takes.
We've got a great group of people here who are ready, willing, and able to help.
Let us know what happens next.

scott what do you think will happen if it is TC? is it very easy to get rid of? what if its in 2nd stage and has spread or something? is it yet easy to treat? im still VERY scared about what a doctor will tell me? should i be scared if he tells me i got cancer? is this cancer very dangerous or very easily cured?
