  • Chance of a 16 year old having cancer..

I'm a bit of a hypochondriac, so when I noticed that my left testicle was hurting quite a lot I got a bit worried. I thought of testicle cancer so I have been checking for lumps etc each day but so far there has been none.
I'm just wondering though, what are the chances of a 16 year old having it? Because I've been researching it and most websites say it's most common in men 25 years and older.
    Thanks for your help.

Sixteen year olds, even infants, can have TC. The age range cited is when the majority of occurances occur, but by no means all. You need to tell a parent that you are having pain in your testicle and want to see a doctor. Many things can cause testicular discomfort besides TC, but it's really not worth the anxiety. Please let us know how you make out with this.

Thanks for your advice. I will be telling my parents if I can go to the doctors this afternoon.

I'm so happy to read this! Your decision shows great maturity. Chances are this is nothing serious...please post what the doc tells you.
