I'm 19 and I'm trying to find out what is exactly wrong with me. My left testicle doesn't feel like it has any bumps on it or anything, but the scrotum is slightly more swollen than the right and it feels like the left scrotum is unraveled or something...it feels like a tube is coming somewhere from the scrotum and just unraveled into the scrotum. It's only in the left testicle and it's been that way for a while now. I just found this site and I am kinda scared about the whole cancer issue. It's not a lump, though, it just feels like a long tube. It doesn't cause much discomfort at all, I hardly ever notice it until I do a self-examination and it is visibly larger than the right. I'd appreciate it if someone could let me know what is going on.

Hi, there,
What you're describing doesn't sound like cancer. There is a condition called a "varicocele" that is described as feeling sort of like a "bag of worms" in the scrotum. My understanding is that it generally isn't anything to worry about, but it's probably a good idea to have a doc take a look just so you will know for sure.
