  • Question here...

Ok well, here's the deal. I'm 15, and I'm worried that I might have testicular cancer (obviously, since I'm posting here).

My left testicle seems well, almost as if it has "collapsed". It is not round, but more oval-shaped, and I can feel stringy loops (kind of like spaghetti) along the entire end facing the ground. It also feels quite flat. It's been like this for about a year, but since I play hockey, I just figured that I must have hurt myself somehow, and it was nothing to worry about. Then, I started getting these dull pains coming from my testicles. They would happen maybe every couple weeks, though I haven't had one for the past 4 months.

As well, I did a TSE, and noticed on my right testicle, that there was a small hard lump. I only noticed this a few days ago however.

I'm terrified that I might have cancer in both of my testicles. If I do in fact have cancer in both testicles, are there any treatment options that could say, save my right testicle (seing as it seems the least abnormal)?

It's possible but very unlikely to have cancer in both testicles at the same time. The most important thing, though, is to get to a urologist to have them checked. Can you get an appointment scheduled?

Well, I am going to make an appointment with my doctor tomorrow, because I've been having pains in other parts of my body. I'm going to ask him to check it out then.

Good, please let us know what you hear. Until then, try not to jump to conclusions. It may not be cancer at all, but you don't want to wait around to find out.

Be sure to ask your doctor about an ultrasound.

Okay, just back from the doctor. He said it seemed like I had an enlarged vein on my left testicle, and it probably isn't cancer. I've got an appointment to get an ultra-sound on tuesday.

I got my results, and they came back normal, so, not cancer, though, we're not sure of what it actually is. But, I am extremely relieved, thank you for your support. This is really a fantastic place.
