I am in a similar situation ... have been with my employer for one year, but with the insurance company only since January (switched insurance from a different company during the one year period). If I change jobs now, does this create a pre-existing condition and hence a reason for the insurance company of the new employer to not cover further CT's etc. ? Can anybody please advise? Thanks.

I have changed jobs twice and insurance plans twice since I was diagnosed in Sept 2005 and have had no problems with coverage. I do have 3 years of coverage though with no lapse in coverage but the insurance I am on now didn't request proof because the policy does not have pre-existing clause. I will be changing insurance again in one month because I will be a full time employee with my new job and I can drop the COBRA. My soon to be new insurance does have a 12 month pre-existing clause but I can get a letter of coverage from my insurance company. I am going to compare coverages before I drop my my COBRA and if I feel that my COBRA is still better I will keep it since my current employer pays the premium on their insurance. If I can drop the COBRA I would save 5000 dollars a year but I am working for a top notch medical facility so I know the insurance is pretty good I think it is First Choice Health of Washington.Right I/O- 9/12/2005
