Has anyone had any luck getting Blue Cross to pay for sperm banking?

I tried and they said no. The only instance in which they might (and it's still uncertain if they would) is if your spouse was actually going through IVF. I think it depends on your particular plan. Our plan doesn't cover anything related to assisted reproduction, so we were out of luck. My advice is to submit all the bills anyway though -- the cryo bank runs a lot of tests on the sperm before they freeze it, and our insurance covered most of those tests (which ended up being a couple hundred dollars).Comment
