I just wanted to formally say thank you to all the members of this forum. It's heartwarming to have so many active participants sharing information and support. Being able to turn to others who have been there first is so critical to all of us, whether we're concerned about symptoms, going through treatment, or celebrating another year cancer free. Keep up the good work, everybody!

I agree with all statements above!!!! I can truly say that had my wife not stumbled across this site after I started salvage chemo and really started physically and mentally decline I would not be here today.. Yvonne started talking to Scott,Dadmo and many others right after I was admitted to the ICU for 3+ weeks.. Guys...I could not make desicions anymore and I really didn't know what was happeing anymore.. I was on 4-6 mg of morphine per hour while having heart monitors, Folly Cath,Blood plattlette transfusions,shunts in both kidney and a long list of other med(mostly for pain) which was eventually switched to a fentinole pump.... The ideas,support,and information you guys shared with Yvonne pushed her into the right directions and asking the right people the right questions.. She at this time was my power of attorney.... March of 2005 both kidney began to shut down..the doctors rushed me into surgery and told my wife to have both my parents and my children togther to spend some time with me that evening.. I spent that evening with my family by my side in what I thought was my last night... The nurses started me on more pain meds and anti depressants.. to coupe with what was to come in the next few hours...After a visit from the pastor I went to sleep... I woke up a few days later in Moffitt cancer center.. next thing I remember clearly was tring to walk again for the first time in months.. I didn't go more then 5 steps.... enough to stand in front of a mirror and see what was left...from 210 lbs to 131 lbs. no mucle..just skin and bones...but I was alive...2 weeks later was the first time I posted here..... I am the One that needs to give Thanks.. Had my wife not found you guys "I WOULD NOT BE ALIVE TODAY"" ... This site played a major part in me surviving and plays a major part in the mental rehab that I have endured over the last 18 months.... We are all thankful to still be alive.. I wanted to share this 1)to say thanks again..2) I know some guys and their families are going through some rough times..YOU WILL SURVIVE..3) Those who think they may have a problem..Please go get checked.. I wouldn't wish my past 2 years on my worst enemy.. It can be avoided if you get check and/or diagnosed EARLY.... THANKS AGAIN to everyone !!!!!!! DON

I'd just like to tip my hat to you and the other moderators for your fine work with this site. I was first diagnosed at age 48, and had no idea what I was getting into. After surgery, I found this site and I believe that I checked new posts daily through my three months of chemotherapy.

Toward the end of chemo, when I was feeling really low, I think you, the other moderators, and everyone here kept me going. I know I owe thanks to you, Don, Dadmo and all members for helping me through what was a pretty rough part of my life.

Well, I certainly can't let this thread go by without putting in my
warm thanks to Scott and all you folks who make this
site so wonderful. When Brian was diagnosed, we were so uninformed
not to mention scared. This site got us through the ordeal by offering
information, advice, support and friendship.

As far as Brian is concerned, I know he will be forever grateful that
he had a place to address his concerns and a place that made him
feel that he wasn't alone in his battle. Even though we were there
to give him support, he had to fight the enemy himself, and I know
he got strength from those of you who fought and won before him.

I received much needed support from other parents who sat on
the sideline and watched their sons go through the ups and downs
of this disease and who wait with apprehension and prayers when
the time comes for a follow up. It doesn't matter how old they are,
they will always be our babies!

I have to add my two cents...when Chris was diagnosed last year...I found this site and it was my lifeline.....Scott was the first person I privately emailed...and it was so nice to have him reply almost immediately...Dadmo was a great support and so full of info...everyone here helped me and my family get thru something I never in a million years thought would happen to my 20 year old..my thanks and appreciation to all......Mary Ellen

I was fortunate to find this site when my son was going through chemo. Don't know what I would of done without it. It was a lonely, scary time. I just wish my son could of been part of this site. It sure would of helped him like it helped me. Who knows, he maybe one of the "Lurkers". Thanks for EVERYTHING!

I'd like to echo the sentiments of the others - the amount of work and passion you put into this community is amazing.. and the same goes for dadmo and Don!

I haven't been nearly as active as I'd like to be over the last months, mainly because of an extra workload.. but I hope to have time to check in more often soon.
