Now is the time to start thinking about what your obligations as a survivor or co-survivor are. Team in training is beginning it's recruiting drive for 2007 and Leukemia is one of the issues that we need to address, not just because it's cancer but those of you who have had chemo are at an increased risk of getting chemo induced Leukemia. Nancy and I are being proactive on our son's behalf and are signing up to do the Wyckoff Triathlon in June 2007. I'm not looking for money, just consider your obligations. The team in training web site can be found here.

I don't like to read about this famous increased risk but i would like to bring my bike down there to participate. Do you know if the ride will be on a week-end? How much money i have to raise? Is this a highly competitive ride or just friendly ride?Eric

Eric:
My intent isn't to get people to join Team In Training but to consider doing something to help cancer patients as a group. Raise money, raise awareness or volunteer time, they are all important.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. Well I've made my first real sacrifice for the cause. I have decided to not purchase a road bike for my 600 mile ride next year. That $2,000 will be used to help fund something related to cancer research. For me it simply means a bit harder time on the ride but for a patient in need that money could be part of a cure.Last edited by dadmo; 11-28-06, 07:35 PM.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III.
