  • Need Everybodys Help Moderating... (READ ON...)

Ad you all know we have Google AdWords serving to this site. The Ad's generate enough monthly revenue to pay for the high power server this busy site requires (plus sometimes a little more which I hold in a reserve to do other things like a total re-design which is on the horizon). Any left overs will be donated to a cancer fund of our choice (I will open that up for discussion and voting next year when the time comes).

So, this is what we need help from EVERYONE with. The Ad's come thru automatically based off scoring of the content. So sometimes we get "bad" Ad's such as alternative medicine advertisements that state Chemo is useless (what a lie - I myself, as well as many of you are proof of this). Also, we dont need any erectile dysfunction Ad's on here, etc. etc. So please, help us moderate these Ad's by reviewing them whenever you can.

IF YOU FIND SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED... Just post the URL and quick explanation of bad site as a reply to this thread. I will get an email of your post and I can add this site to our "BAN" list. Within 30 minutes of me banning this site, the Ad will be gone and will never return to TC-Cancer.com -- unless the joker gets crafty and creates a new website with a new URL for the same garbage. This is why we need to keep constant watch on the Ad's and the content contained on the websites we are linking to.

Everyones' help in checking as much as possible is greatly appreciate. We want good quality Ad's only to serve our community. This way they are helpful and keep the site going from the financial side. I much rather keep Ad's then accept any donations (which all donation links have been gone for a while now).

Lastly, a huge and warm thank you to everyone for making TC-Cancer.com what it is today -- the largest online community of testicular cancer survirors and co-survivors in the world!

James, I'm not so sure about the latest ads, things like computer memory, movies, and smiley collections. They just seem unrelated to our purpose.

      James,
Thanks for all your efforts on this site!

I agree with Scott about the horror flicks and smilies. These ads are like annoying tacky pop-ups to me and not in line with what people come to this site for......like "damn, I might have cancer, but what a cool smiley".

I'm with Scott and Karen on this one. As I'm typing an add is running for 5 DVD's for 49 cents each. I know we need to generate revenue to keep the site up but something more relevant would be nice.

Not many posts here, but saw this ad on site:

            The ad on site said:
            New Cancer Treatment
4x Better Survival Rates Than Chemo or Radiotherapy
            CancerTreatmentMX.com
Sure seems a bit inappropriate to me, but you can make the decision.
