  • Crazy Sexy Cancer

Tonight at 9 on The learning channel they are airing a documentary titled Crazy Sexy Cancer. It's listed as an irreverent and uplifting documentary about a young woman looking for a cure and finding her life.

I don't know if it will be any good but I wanted to make sure everyone knew it was on.

Matthew Zachary referred to it in "The Stupid Cancer Show" last Monday, and he speaks very highly of it. I may have to go back to the lab tonight , but I'm DVRing it.

      I watched most of it

What a lovely girl. I Totally related to her journey.

This disease just takes your emotions and wraps them up in knots. She was incredibly brave not just in her dealing with the disease, but also to open herself up so much in front of the camera.

If anyone has a chance to see it, I would recommend it.

And if you're all worried about the ending, don't be.
      Stage III Non-Seminoma- 7/11/06
      Right I/O 7/12/06
      Completed 4x BEP 11/06
      Bi-Lateral RPLND (Dr. Shenifeld)- 11/27/06
      Surveillance since then

When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or Fight Like Hell.

I fell asleep before it ended but what I did see was wonderful. Right from the beginning she had my attention when she decided to treat her doctor search as if they (the doctors) were applying for the job of being allowed to care for her. Each and everyone of us here should take that page out of her play book.

The most eerie part was when she was getting the CT scan. The ceiling is painted like a sky with clouds, and that's the only thing you see when the put you on the table while they are giving you the shot of IV contrast. Seeing that ceiling on the documentary definitely felt weird.
