  • 2008 LOVEstrong Challenge

Plans are in the works to form a team for the 2008 LIVEstrong Challenge in Philly. We will be team LOVEstrong and the captain will be none other then our own Danny of the brothers extrodinare. Anyone interested in riding or walking in next years challenge please consider joining team LOVEstrong. Let's make our mark in PA and see if we can't win one of the awards that's given out by the LAF (Lance Armstrong Foundation).

Awards given last year were for
    Most team members
Most money raised by a team
Most money raised by an individual
Most individual donations received (won by Scott)
    Best T-Shirt design
    Best biking jersey design

With an early start to the planning we can have one heck of a party starting on Friday night and finishing after the livestrong event on Sunday evening.

    Danny accepts.

On behalf of Danny, allow me say that he is stoked for next year in Philly and honored to lead "Team LOVEstrong!"

Let this be our ultimate goal, 10 months from now, for Danny to have beaten the odds, moved on from this year+ of treatment, and have the pleasure and utter delight of riding through the streets of Philadelphia with his forum family by his side as he accomplishes what many thought was not possible and fights for a cause which he holds closest to his heart and soul.

    LOVEstrong 2008.
    LOVEstrong Forever.

Right now nothing needs to be done other then making a commitment to make a difference. It will be a few months before the LAF announces the dates for next years challenge. In the mean time you may want to poke around the 2007 challenge home page. Just click here. When the 2008 fundraising efforts begin Danny will set up a team page. Scott does this each year for his CCC team just take a look here , each of us will be able to set up our own fundraising home page, heres mine from 2007. The team page will have links to the individual pages.
The challenge event itself is always on a Sunday with most participants arriving at the pre-arranged hotel on Friday night or Saturady morning. This gives all of the team members a chance to meet and go on a short tune up ride or walk. This should be one heck of an event for our forum family. If anyone has design skills and is willing to help with a t-shirt or biking shirt design please jump right in.
