Hi everyone,
I was diagnosed with testicular cancer in March of this year. Thankfully, my cancer has been in remission since having surgery, but not everyone who gets diagnosed with cancer is so fortunate.
On November 5th, I will be participating in the 24 Hour Cancer Dance-a-thon, a swing dance to raise money for cancer research. All proceeds will go to The City of Hope, a premier cancer research hospital (http://www.cityofhope.org/home.htm ). The money I raise will be used for promoting awareness, healing and research.

HOW THE 24 HOUR CANCER DANCE-A-THON WORKS
Participating dancers organize into teams. It's like a relay, with at least one dancer from every team on the dance floor throughout the 24 hours. There will be live bands, dance lessons, dance contests, performances, and open dancing. This effort is a fun way to celebrate survivors, bring awareness to the community, and remember those that have passed away from cancer.
Feel free to join in the fun - you don't even have to know how to swing dance! There will be lessons and people to help you at the Dance-a-thon. It starts 10:00 am Saturday, November 5, 2005 and goes all the way until 10:00 am Sunday, November 6, 2005. The event will be held at:
Boys and Girls Club in Irvine
295 East Yale Loop
Irvine, California 92604
