  • Xmas for my mom

    Hello.
Been a long time since I visited this forum and made a post.
Merry Xmas everbody. This year I put together a little video
that went along with my xmas present for my mother. It's
chronicles the past 18 months from start to finish with pic
and music my journey from coach potato, to couch potato
    with TC, to triathlete.

Her real present is an all expense paid vacation to Orlando
Fl to watch me compete in the Ford 1/2 Ironman Triathlon.
in May of 2006. 2 yrs from when I was diagnosed stage 2b,
4 rounds of chemo an RPLND for good measure.

The timeline of this video takes place from 7/1/04 to 12/25/05.
Roughly 1 1/2 yrs. To all the new people at this forum, be
    strong. "Live Strong"

The video clip is 5.5mb. Too large to upload but if you feel like
seeing it just send an email request and I'll be glad to send it.

    Tyler
    Merry Christmas

Your mom must have loved the video, and she's going to love seeing your triathlon, too. I'd love to see the movie myself.

Keep up the good work, and Merry Christmas!

Good to hear from you again, Tyler. Wow, you've certainly been active since the last time we've heard from you.. and going from couch potato to triathlete, that's just amazing!

The best of luck on the Ford 1/2 Ironman Triathlon! I'd love to see the video, if you could mail it to me. My email-adresse should be in my profile.
          Sincerely,

            Update- Tyler LAF

            Hello,

Sorry I haven't been around to post. Let's see hmm...14 months
since my RPLND at SLOAN. I feel great. Better then ever.

I hope that "newbies" to this site get to see all the AFTER stories
and find some hope and comfort knowing that when you come
out the other side of this your life is going to be BETTER!! Mentally
            and physically.

After making that video xmas present for my mom of my progress,
I decided to make a website of my experience with testicular cancer
while trying to help out the LAF in the process. I've decided to use
every Triathlon I enter as a way to get my story out there and help
            raise money for the LAF.

When you find time visit www.aircrewphotos.com Look for the
triathlon symbol. You can't miss it. Please get that link out to everyone
you know. I'll be doing the same for all the links I see here from
others that are trying to help the LAF.

God bless all of us and the "newbies" here.

            Tyler - "Live'N Strong"

ps- I'll be getting on emailing that vid out. It's about 7mb.

Were you able to get your mom to the 1/2 ironman? It must have been a magic moment for both of you.

I won't miss you by much on the 24-25 I'm going to be in Beach Haven West. One of those mornings I always ride long beach island. I just made a copy of your Tri Video, I can't wait to play it for Nancy tonight. She has her first on saturday. Hopefully the video will get her as pumped as her tires.

Hi Tyler. I was also at the Florida Half Ironman racing right along with you. I enjoyed your race report. We had pretty much the same race until the run. I bonked pretty hard and ended up having to walk a good part of the run. But the goal was to finish and we did! Congratulations on your race. Keep training hard and we'll see you on some race course some time.

                        Tyler:
Your video is great. I made a copy for Nancy, she watched it 5-6 times already. Tonight she has a pre-tri pasta dinner with the Leukemia Tri team and she brought the CD along. You may have the #1 Video in Bergen County. Thanks for the inspiration. Just for the record my wife kicks a**.

By 9:45 this a.m Nancy had completed a 1/2 mile swim a 17 mile bike ride and a 5 mile run. By 11:30 she finished her first bottle of champagne. The days where you truly get to enjoy your full portion of life are wonderful. My new avatar is Nancy in the transition area holding up the tc forum shirt.
