Updated NCCN Guidelines Available
The 2008 version of the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines for the treatment of Testicular Cancer are now available online. Three updates have been made:- The treatment of stage IA, IB, and IS seminoma with single agent carboplatin has been changed from a category 3 to a category 2B designation. This means that adjuvant carboplatin is now considered to be (non-uniformly but without major disagreements) an acceptable treatment for stage I seminoma.
- RPLNDs are specified as "open nerve sparing".
- A palliative treatment recommendation of gemcitabine and oxaliplatin (GEMOX) has been added as second line salvage therapy.
