    hey

How's it going with den. I was wondering about his tumor and if had spread. I had a rare Sertoli cell tumor and am almost a year out from diagnosis. I had some scares over last year and some blood levels are up (AFP still around 15-18), but I seem to be clean so far. Let us know how he is doing if you can. God bless.

    re: my friend Den

Thank you, and I will check out the thread. My friend has some complicating factors but maybe he could benefit.

Ramfan13 in this forum was diagnosed with Sertoli which is another stromal tumor variety and closely related to Leydig. It might be worthwhile re-reading his threads.

Also, has your friend been unequivocally diagnosed with metastatic Leydig tumors?

    Welcome to the forums, Den.

The TCRC says, "Leydig cell tumors and Sertoli cell tumors are rare tumors of the testicle. While some of these tumors are malignant, pathologists are usually not able to determine if the tumor is malignant simply by looking at it. As a result, a radical orchiectomy is usually done and is curative without the need for further treatment."

eMedicine says, "Leydig cell tumors are usually benign, but approximately 10% are malignant."

What treatment has your friend already had?

New to group/rare form of TC

Hello. My friend Den has a rare form of TC, leydig cell. It doesn't respond to chemo, and surgery to remove abdominal lymph nodes is not an option for now. Is there anyone out there with a similar condition? He's looking at alternative and complementary therapies as well. Thanks!
