  • Granite State Quest

Today, I committed to ride 50 miles on June 17, 2006, in the Granite State Quest, a local event benefiting pediatric cancer programs at Massachusetts General Hospital. This will be a great training ride for my LIVESTRONG Challenge in September, and I'm very excited to be participating in a ride in my own home town!

Jay got on his bike for the first time and fell off! Bruised the whole side of his body. What is the cliche, if you fall off a horse, you better get back on? Well, I think he is afraid of his bike!! He hasn't been on it since and he is supposed to ride 100 miles in Phila for LAF in September!! Aren't there a lot of mountains in the Granite State? We lived in Wolfeboro, NH for the first four years of our marriage. We'll be in Center Harbor for a few days in July visiting friends. What is your route? Dianne
        Spouse: I/O 8/80; embryonal, seminoma, teratoma; RPLND 9/80 - no reoccurrence - HRT 8/80; bladder cancer 11/97; reoccurrence: 4X

There are, but not in the Seacoast area. I should know more about the route in about two weeks. For now, I just know it starts and ends at Timberland in Stratham.

It's there but kind of buried: the registration deadline is May 1.

While my main focus has to be for the LIVESTRONG Challenge Philadelphia, if anyone here is inspired to support children's cancer research programs at Massachusetts General Hospital, they and I would appreciate your sponsorship. See this link for details.

I will think of you often that day. Nancy will be doing a triathlon, on the same day, in honor of Jason. As she pass specific points I will be there playing "I Run For Life" by M. Ethridge and holding up pictures of Jason while he was in treatment. When I do this I will also thank you for your efforts on behalf of the cancer community. Thank you Scott.

Don't think of me. Think of Nancy, Jason, and the suffering children.
