As you can imagine she’s very nervous but once the event begins I’m sure that the angel effect will carry the day.

I managed to get in a 14-mile ride this afternoon. The weather was good when I started out. A very light, occasional rain felt great for the last couple miles. About a half mile from home it started to pour! Honestly, I didn't care -- it just felt great to be out. I'm really looking forward to Saturday's group ride.Scott, [email protected]

Have fun on your ride Scott when you are done you can come to the Great State of Iowa for the RAGBRAI http://www.ragbrai.org/ I think there are 3 people on my floor at work that will be doing it again this year. You want to talk about A LOT of bikes in one place Think swarm of riders and many old school buses converted into party padsone of those things you have to see to believe.
Good Luck and have fun

Brian:
Holy smokes, what an event. I can't even imagine that many riders on such a big ride. I think the number was 8500 weekly riders and 1500 daily. I'm going to put this one in my must do someday book.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. Full open RPLND 10/13/04. Yep it is big they had a stop about 5 miles from where I live 2 years ago this year they will be close to Iowa city which is only 20 miles from me. I might have to run down and take some pics but as you can imagine it is packed with riders and support buses, venders and TV station Sat trucks from all over the Midwest.
I know they usually get some big names to do the ride some of them have a YELLOW jersey or two in the closet.

Granite State Quest 2011
I enjoyed digging up this old thread about the first time I rode in the Granite State Quest five years ago, a year after my L-RPLND adventure.
I'm riding it again this year, next weekend!

I'll have kids like Diamond from S P's post in mind as I pedal tomorrow. I'm going to attempt the full century, though it's more than twice my longest ride so far this year. Wish me luck!Scott, [email protected]

The first, 30-mile loop was excellent. The second, 20-mile loop was challenging. The third, 50-mile loop was painful! But I finished it.Scott, [email protected]
