  • Hi - New Memeber

Just joined and wanted to introduce myself. I am 37 year old English guy living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with my wife and 2 kids. First diagnosed with St 1 Seminoma March 04 and had r I/O and Radiotherapy. All went well for 18 months then in Oct 05 my bHCG markers were up and I then started 4 rounds of EP at begining of Nov 05. Finished in Jan 06 and I now feel fine (feet still a bit numb). Trying to set up a male cancer awarness called 'A Load of Balls' and 'Tackle It' to try and use sport as a medium for getting guys to check! Look forward to hearing from you and helping anyone in anyway I can.
Remember to allways go to your follow-ups!!

P.S we are 10 hours ahead in the UAE!

    Rory:
Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry about your set back but it seems like everthing is fine now. The numbness in the feet will most likely go away over time. Good luck with your efforts to raise awareness.
Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. Full open RPLND 10/13/04. All Clear since.

Treated by Dr. Rakowski of Midland Park, NJ. Visited Sloan Kettering for protocol advice. RPLND done at Sloan Kettering.

Welcome, Rory! I can tell you'll have a lot to add here.

Thanks Guys, You will have to excuse me if I seem slow in replying but due to the time difference and our weekends being Thu/Fri I will probably be signed in when everyone else is in bed and at work when everyone else is at play and vice versa.

It's always good to have a knowledgeable member in an odd time zone. As you can imagine plenty of just diagnosed people stay awake at night and they log in for advise.

Will do my best but with my humour I will probably help them go to sleep. Which is where I am off to now.

Some of them will be perfectly happy with that help!
