  • Hello from Missouri

    Hey All:

I am not sure if I still would recognize many people on the board, but got an e-mail to stop in and say hi. I so much appreciate this board from my time with TC, and definitely want to stay involved. There have been some major changes in my life that has made my internet surfing limited.

The main change is that I am on my pre-doctoral internship at the University of Missouri - Columbia Counseling Center. This is exciting because even though I took Spring 2005 semester off to do my chemo, I still applied with my cohort. It made for a busy last year, but so far it seems to all work out. I have lived in Columbia, MO since July and so far am enjoying it. My internship is 40+ hours a week, but with a lot of variety.

As I said, I am so thankful for my experiences on this board and the many messages that I read for support, advice, and courage. My next appointment to check out my levels is December 26th. I hope to have a late Xmas present. This is the longest I have waited, as I am now going every 6 months.

Good luck to everyone that is currently battling TC, caring for someone with TC, and all others.

    Bobby:
It's great to here from you again. It sounds like your busy and enjoying life, that's great. Don't feel bad about moving on, sometimes it's the right thing to do.

Thanks for checking in and letting us know things are going well. I hope you didn't mind the e-mail invitation I sent prompting people who haven't posted in a while to stop by.

I did not mind the e-mail at all. Quite the opposite, it reminded me of all the support and answers I recieved on this site.

Welcome to Columbia, Bobby (if a bit belated). I guess if you're at MU your surveillance visits will be done at Ellis Fischel? I've been at Missouri Cancer Associates.

Did you shut down your old blog? I tried it the other day and it came up as a dead link.

            Blog

            Hey Vinny:

Thanks for the welcome to Missouri and Columbia. I did not shut down my blog, but I took out my last name from the address. Here is the new address.

This link should work. I am going to continue to do my surveillance appointments at Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo, ND. I made the decision because I now only am going in every 4-6 months. I make it home that often, so I felt it was easier than transferring for one year.
