The Oncology Visit

Lab report said : "pT2:Tumor limited to the testis and epididymis with vascular/lymphatic invasion. Venous/Lymphatic invasion is present".

The invasion noted does increase the likelihood that the cancer has spread beyond the testicle and that you'll need more treatment, but it doesn't guarantee it. You need your CT scan and blood test results first. ("pT2" does not equal "stage II." It's only part of the staging information, describing the primary tumor.)

From those lab reports you're going to need some further tratment to be cured. It seems like chemo would do the trick but let us know what the doctors decide.

The appointment with the oncologist was very thorough. He is connected with the people from Indiana University, the top place for T.C. treatment in the country. He ordered a CT Scan, and they took a blood test, as well as tested the kidneys. He said the lab report indicated that some of the cancer had spread beyond the testicle which was removed. The blood work and the CT Scan will determine what the next step is. He said if the markers indicate there is still some cancer in the body, they will immediately begin chemo. If they do not, they will still do chemo since there is 40% embryonic carcinoma. The surgery some of you mentioned is also still a possibility as well. I hope it does not come to that.

That is the latest. I will let everyone know when the final decisions are made and what type of treatments are coming.
