  • Relay For Life

Just curious if anyone else here is getting ready for this event? Our local relay is the 23rd-24th of this month. I'm on my work team and we have done pretty well raising donations. I think we're 5th or 6th for our city.

Last Saturday was the preregistration for the survivor lap. They had a breakfast and gave tours of a local radiology oncologist office. It was pretty interesting to see the radiation machines since I only had chemo.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to the event!

Hi, our event is June 22nd and my husband and I are participating for the first time. We've actually been asked to speak during the opening ceremonies. We have a survivors dinner before the event where a survivor can bring one caregiver. It will be myself and Jon, his mom (breast cancer) and his three aunts (all cancer survivors). It's like our own family reunion. Let us know how you all do!

This will be my first time as well. The dinner sounds like fun! Oh, they had a raffle at the survivors breakfast and I won tickets to a brunch at a local restaraunt. I don't know what it is with raffles, but I always end up winning something. LOL

I'll try to post some pictures of the event.
