  • calling me in

Well bright and early (and i mean early) my doctors office called. I was still sleeping and did not feel like getting up to answer the phone. So what happens next? They call my fiancies cell phone to try to get ahold of me. Sounds pretty desperate to get me in there. I called and spoke to the nurse and my doctor is not in today but she wanted me to come in to go over the results of the ultrasound. She said that the doctor I would be seeing had a 4:15 and 4:30 open. While I was thinking about it she said "or we can squeeze you in at any other time too. It can not be too good when they want me in there this bad. Yes, yes I know I should not worry and not think about it, but that is easier said then done.

I will let everyone know tonight what is going on. Wish me luck.

I have to agree that it seems like you may have a problem but take some comfort from the fact that your doctors are moving quickly. Good Luck.

I saw someone say to ask if I needed anything. Yeah for my car to get fixed. lol just kidding. Well I went in and the doctor I spoke to did not know much. However I do know it is a Nonseminomatous tumor. It is about 3.8cm. I did not think much of that because I was not sure how long that and it turns out that it is a bit over an inch. Not that big but when you take into account of the size of the testicle to begin with.

So now I have an appointment with the urologist this coming Thursday. From what I know this basically seals the deal on testicle remove correct?

/sigh I was just looking at the papers and see that the date I am going in is Friday the 13th. Oh and this is so important that they made the appointment them selfs before I even got there.

3.8 cm is about 1.5 inches. I assume you know it's non-seminoma because your blood test showed elevated AFP.

You need surgery to remove the testicle immediately. Hang in there, but get it done.

                        Hey Man,
Make sure that you try to take it easy (as much as you can) after the surgery. You'll be sore for a few days, but your recovery will be swift. Just don't try to rush back into things. The I/O is the first step on the road to the cure. It's good that you are taking care of this promptly. Best of luck!

Hey Scott I do not even know what non-seminoma means. lol No blood tests yet, just says "probable". Does "non-seminoma" mean cancer or what?

Yes, non-seminoma is cancer. Without blood test results or the pathology report after the testicle is removed, I don't know how your doctor can say it's non-seminoma, though.

Well I am guessing from size and soforth is why she said "probable" and it was the person who read the US that said it. I am a joke maker and I am very sarcastic. The farther I get into this the less I can make fun of it. As much as I think I am prepared for this I know I am not.
